We just heard from Miguel “El duende” Cortijo one of the most disturbing sad beats ever. In 3 hands he went from 22.000 to out.

First he had 7-8 on a flop with 7-7-8 and his opponent had 8-8 on the showdown. The next hand he picks up Q-Q and runs into A-A and then Q-J against 4-2 min raise and the flop came Q-4-2 and then  all the chips went in and Miguel went out when none of his outs appeared.

The Spanish Poker Championship is under way here in Casino de Torrequebrada with pokerplayers eager to get heir hands on the first prize and those oh so valuable ranking points in the Championship.

We ended the session yesterday with 42 entries into the Main event and these players were distributed among the 2 days of play today and for tomorrow. Today we have a total of 68 players who will play and tomorrow we will have even more since it is Saturday and all.
